Usage & Licensing
Overview
When we produce video, photography or creative content for you, the question of usage rights determines how, where and for how long you can use that work. This page explains how usage licensing works at Cramatic and what is included as standard.
Standard usage rights
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, final approved deliverables are licensed for the agreed business use once all outstanding payments have been received. This means you can use the finished content for the specific commercial purpose discussed and confirmed during the project — for example, on your website, social media channels or in marketing materials as outlined in the proposal or brief.
Raw footage
Raw, unedited footage is not included in any project unless explicitly agreed in writing before production begins. If you require raw files, please raise this at the quoting stage so we can include it in the scope and pricing.
Project files
Editable project files (such as editing timelines, After Effects compositions or design source files) are not included unless agreed in writing. These remain the property of Cramatic Limited.
Music and audio licensing
Music, sound effects and audio tracks used in your content may be sourced from third-party libraries. These tracks are covered by separate licences with specific terms regarding territory, duration and platform. We ensure the correct licence is in place for the agreed use, but extended or alternative uses (such as broadcast or international campaigns) may require additional licensing fees.
Stock footage and assets
Where stock footage, imagery or other third-party assets are used in your project, these are subject to the licence terms of the original provider. We will ensure appropriate licensing is in place for the agreed deliverables, but separate or extended use of those assets may require additional licences.
Broadcast and paid advertising
If your content is intended for broadcast television, cinema, streaming platforms or paid advertising beyond standard social media, extended licensing may apply. Please confirm intended usage at the briefing stage so we can advise on any additional requirements or costs.
Influencer, model and presenter usage
Where influencers, models, presenters or talent appear in your content, separate usage agreements may be required. Talent fees and usage windows are typically agreed independently and may carry time-limited or platform-specific restrictions. We will advise where additional agreements are needed.
Client responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that any products, services, claims, testimonials or materials you provide for inclusion in the content are lawful, accurate and do not infringe the rights of any third party. We produce content based on the information and materials you supply, and we are not liable for claims arising from your products, statements or business practices.
Portfolio use
We may use approved, delivered work in our portfolio, showreel, website, social media and marketing materials unless otherwise agreed in writing. If you require confidentiality or exclusion from our portfolio, please confirm this before production begins.
Unpaid work
Content cannot be used commercially until all outstanding payments have been received in full. If an invoice remains unpaid, usage rights are not considered granted and any commercial use of the content would be unauthorised.
This page provides general information about how we work. Specific project terms may also be confirmed in a written proposal, invoice, contract or service agreement.
